DeGeorge Named To #HLVB All-Academic Team

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced the 2019 Volleyball All-Academic Team Tuesday afternoon, with Cleveland State junior Emily DeGeorge earning a spot on the 14-player team.

DeGeorge carries a 3.95 GPA pursuing a degree in nursing, and has been named to the Cleveland State Dean's List every semester of her collegiate career.

On the court, DeGeorge has appeared in every set for the Vikings this year as a six-rotation player, and is averaging 3.32 digs and 2.04 kills per set. Among league players, she is one of just two to post 200+ kills and 350+ digs on the year.

For the year, DeGeorge has tallied 220 total kills, 359 total digs and 54 total blocks, and has recorded six double-doubles. In the season finale against IUPUI, she recorded her first 20-20 match, finishing with a career-high tying 23 kills and 22 digs.

Earlier this season, DeGeorge eclipsed the 1,000-dig mark for her career, becoming the 20th Viking all-time to reach the milestone. She finished the year with 1,121 career digs and ranks 10th in the CSU Career Record Book in the category.

This marks her second time earning a spot on the #HLVB All-Academic Team, while she is also a two-time All-League honoree.
