Volleyball Falls In Five-Set Match At UIC

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Cleveland State volleyball team closed out the road portion of its regular season schedule Sunday, dropping a five-set match at UIC.

Cleveland State's offense was led by the trio of Trinniti Hall, Chelsea Penfield and Hannah Greene, as they combined for 35 total kills on the match. Hall finished with a team-high 13 kills, while Penfield posted a career-best 12, and Greene added 10 kills.

Christina Grecol and Katie Jorn split the setting duties for the Vikings, with Grecol posting 26 assists and Jorn finishing with 19 helpers. With her 26 assists against UIC, Grecol surpassed with 2,000-assist mark for her career, ending the weekend with 2,019 total helpers.

Defensively, Hall and Lindsey Tout led the Vikings, with Hall posting a team-best 14 digs and Tout adding 10. With her 14 digs and 13 kills, Hall finished with her seventh double-double of the year.

Greene ended the match with five total blocks, while Peyton Bloomer finished the match with three. Greene has now recorded three or more blocks in 20 matches this season, and is just shy of earning a spot in the CSU Career Record Book with 310 total blocks and 47 solo blocks on her career.

From the service line, the Vikings finished the match with five aces, including two from Greene and DeGeorge.
