CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State volleyball team continued Horizon League play Sunday afternoon, dropping a 3-1 contest against UIC.

Emily DeGeorge finished the UIC match with nine digs, putting her career total at 981 to finish the weekend. DeGeorge enters next weekend's matches against Youngstown State and Oakland needing just 19 more digs to reach the 1,000-dig milestone. DeGeorge would become the 20th Viking all-time to achieve the feat.

Offensively, the Vikings were led by Hannah Greene and Trinniti Hall, as Greene recorded 15 kills and Hall added 10 kills.
Christina Grecol posted 35 assists on the match, along with 14 digs for her eighth double-double of the year.
Libero Lindsey Tout recorded a team-high 18 digs against UIC, while Emily DeGeorge added nine and Audrey McConihe posted eight.
Greene also recorded a team-high four total blocks, while Peyton Bloomer and Hall both finished with two blocks each.
After dropping the first set, the Vikings rebounded during the second frame, picking up a 25-18 second set victory to even the match at 1-1.
Midway through the frame the Vikings were able to post three straight points to gain a 10-7 advantage, and then went on to hold the lead for the remainder of the frame. Back-to-back points on a UIC error and a Greene kill gave the Vikings the 25-18 second set victory.
UIC was then able to pick up a 25-23 win during the third set, giving the Flames the 2-1 advantage heading into the fourth frame.
The Vikings were once again able to gain an advantage midway through the frame, posting three straight points to earn a 14-9 edge after forcing three straight UIC errors. The Vikings were then able to hold a slim lead over the next few plays, until back-to-back points from the Flames tied the set at 17-17.
UIC then went on to control play throughout the remainder of the frame, picking up a 25-23 fourth set victory to clinch the match with a score of 3-1.
