Despite falling 3-0, the Vikings were able to give Michigan all it could handle, pushing them to set scores of 25-23, 25-22, 25-18.

Rachel Stover had a team-high eight kills, while Trinniti Hall added six and Hannah Greene and Emily DeGeorge each added five. Christina Grecol finished with 30 assists, while Rachael Dohar posted 12 digs and Jordan Verbiak added 11.

The trio of Greene, Stover and Hall all recorded three blocks each, while Ambre Pierce added two and DeGeorge added one.

During the opening set, Cleveland State was able to keep the frame tight until the very end, even tying the score at 21-21 on a Verbiak service ace. This would be as close as the Vikings would get in the set though, as Michigan came away with the 25-23 victory.

During the second frame the Vikings had to play from behind for the entire set, closing the gap to just one point at the 23-22 mark following a 6-0 run. During this stretch, the Vikings got points from Greene and Stover kills, a Sara Skeens solo block and a handful of Michigan errors. Michigan responded with the next two points though, closing the frame at 25-22.

The third set was much like the second, as the Vikings were playing from behind and just couldn't pull close enough to threaten the Wolverines, as they came away with the third set and match victory.
