INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced the 2017 Volleyball All-Academic Team Friday afternoon, with Cleveland State senior Shannon Grega earning a spot on the 15-player team.

Grega carries a 3.60 GPA pursuing a degree in nursing, and has been named to the Cleveland State Dean's List five times throughout her career. A two-time All-Academic Team honoree – also earning the accolade last season as a junior – Grega is on track to graduate next spring.

On the court, Grega has led a Viking defense that has held its opponents to just a .192 clip this season. The senior ranks second among league players averaging 4.69 digs per set this season, recording 478 total digs.

Entering the regular season finale, Grega ranks third in the Cleveland State Career Record Book with 1,422 total digs, and is one of just four Vikings all-time to eclipse the 1,400-dig mark.

Grega has also been one of Cleveland State's strongest servers this season, as she leads the league averaging 0.39 service aces per set. For the season, Grega has notched 40 aces, and has 103 on her career.

Grega and the Vikings will close out the regular season tonight (Friday, November 10), hosting Green Bay at 6:00 p.m. in Woodling Gymnasium.
