LEXINGTON, Ky. – After leading the Cleveland State volleyball team to its fourth Horizon League Regular Season and Tournament Titles, senior outside hitter Grace Kauth has been named AVCA All-Northeast Region. The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced the 14-player All-Region teams Tuesday afternoon.

Kauth earns AVCA All-Region honors for the first time in her career.

As a senior, Kauth led the Viking offense with 417 total kills, eclipsing the 400-kill mark for the second straight season. Kauth also recorded 332 digs, 64 total blocks, and 27 service aces during the 2016 season.

Kauth finished the year ranked second among Horizon League players averaging 3.53 kills per set and concluded her Viking career ranked sixth in the CSU Career Record book averaging 3.18 kills per set throughout her four-year career.

The Vandalia, Ohio native also finished ranked in the top-10 in six other categories in the CSU Career Record book, including third with 1,457 kills and fourth with 1,240 digs. For the season, Kauth recorded 24 double-digit kill matches, including three 20-kill performances. She also notched 16 double-doubles on the year.

Kauth and the Vikings ended the 2016 season with a 25-6 overall record, notching their seventh 20-win season under head coach Chuck Voss. The Vikings also recorded a 14-2 mark in Horizon League matches, notching a program record for league wins in a single season.
