ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Cleveland State volleyball team continued its winning ways Saturday afternoon, as the Vikings cruised to a 3-0 victory at Oakland to extend their lead in the Horizon League standings. For the season, the Vikings are now 21-4 overall and 12-1 against league opponents.

Match Stats
· Sara Skeens led the Viking offense with 10 kills, while Sydney Mast added nine and Alexis Middlebrooks and Grace Kauth both posted seven.
· Gina Kilner notched 29 assists on the match, along with three kills.
· Shannon Grega posted a team-high 12 digs, while Grace Kauth added seven and Jordan Verbiak tallied five.
· Gina Kilner and Jordan Verbiak both recorded two service aces on the match.
· Sydney Mast tallied a team-high six blocks, while Aaliyah Slappy added four and Alexis Middlebrooks posted three.

Match Notes
· Cleveland State's victory at Oakland extended its current winstreak to 12 straight matches, as the Vikings have now posted 12 consecutive wins three times under head coach Chuck Voss.
· The Vikings split the season series against the Grizzlies, as Oakland came away victorious in a five-set match during the first half of league play.
· The 3-0 sweep at Oakland marked the ninth sweep of the season for the Vikings.
· Saturday's victory against the Grizzlies kept Cleveland State perfect on the road during Horizon League play, as the Vikings own a 7-0 record when playing away from home against league competition.
· With two block assists against Oakland, Alexis Middlebrooks moved into seventh place in the CSU Career Record book with 290 career block assists.
· After notching seven digs on the match, Grace Kauth now ranks sixth in the CSU Career Record book with 1,175 career digs.

The Match
During the opening set, Cleveland State was able to get out to a 15-7 lead following a 5-0 run, and then remained in control for the rest of the frame. After earning a 23-14 advantage on an Alexis Middlebrooks kill, the Vikings were able to put the set away with back-to-back points on a Sara Skeens kill and a block from Sydeny Mast and Aaliyah Slappy.

The second set was much of the same, as the Vikings earned a 20-12 lead midway through the frame following a pair of Grace Kauth kills and a Jordan Verbiak service ace. The Vikings then tallied five of the last seven points, and gained the 2-0 advantage in the match after a pair of Oakland errors closed out the second set.

Cleveland State once again gained a sizeable advantage midway through the third frame, earning a 16-7 lead after a pair of Oakland errors and a Gina Kilner kill. The Vikings controlled the momentum for the rest of the frame then, and earned the 3-0 sweep after a Mast kill captured the third set victory.
