Prior to her time at Ursuline, Outman was an assistant track and field coach and recruiting coordinator at Emory University from 2010-12. In addition, Outman coached Emory student-athletes to eight NCAA All-America finishes, 50 conference championship titles, three conference team titles, 11 school records, six conference records and more than 35 national qualifying marks.

From 2008-10, Outman served as a volunteer coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP).

This past year, Outman took a gap year from collegiate coaching to train for the 2016 Olympic Trials.

Outman earned a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology and American Studies in 2008 from Williams College and her Master's of Arts in Sociology from IUP in 2010.

While competing collegiately, Outman was a 13-time NCAA All-American and a four-time Academic All-American. She was the Division II Atlantic Region Field Athlete of the Year in 2009 and 2010 and holds 10 school records at IUP and six more at Williams.
