Cleveland State Track & Field Has Strong Final Day At Akron Invite

AKRON, Ohio – The Cleveland State track & field team had a strong final day at the Akron Invite Saturday, paced by a pair of top-10 finishes from freshman Jillian McArdle in the 60 Meter Hurdles and Long Jump.

McArdle recorded a pair of eighth place finishes in the 60 Meter Hurdles and Long Jump on Saturday, posting a time of 9.67 in the finals of the 60 Meter Hurdles, while notching a mark of 4.80 in the Long Jump.

The Vikings had a pair of top-15 finishes in the 800 Meter Run, as Madelynn Madison placed 13th (2:26.71) and Tara Will placed 15th (2:30.11).

Karly Klaer was just shy of earning another top-15 finish in the Shot Put, as she placed 16th overall with a mark of 11.15.

In addition, Madison Morris paced the Vikings in the 200 Meter Dash, crossing the finish line in a time of 27.12 to finish 20th overall.

Both Morris and McArdle recorded personal-bests in the 60/200 and 60H/200, respectively.

Cleveland State will continue the 2022-23 indoor campaign next weekend, participating in the Spire Collegiate Indoor Games on Saturday, February 11.
