AKRON, Ohio – The Cleveland State track & field team opened the Akron Invitational Friday, with Ariana Coats and Madeline Crissman competing in the 5000 Meter Run.
"We had a great start to the weekend with Ariana and Madeline in the 5000 Meter Run today," head coach Jason Hudson said. "They have both been working really hard so far this season, and it's great to see that hard work pay off on the track."
Coats set a career-best on Friday, crossing the finish line in a time of 18:59.96 to finish 10th overall.
Crissman placed 14th in the event, posting a time of a 20:27.27.
The Vikings will continue action at the Akron Invite tomorrow, with track and running events starting at 11:00 a.m.
