Cleveland State’s Korte & Smith Named To #HLTF Indoor All-Academic Team

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced the 2022 Indoor Track & Field All-Academic Team Monday morning, with the Cleveland State duo of Hannah Korte and Margaret Smith earning a spot on the 17-member team.

Korte finished the indoor season carrying a 3.97 cumulative GPA pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, while earning a spot on the Cleveland State Dean's List every semester she has been eligible. This marks the third time that Korte has been named to an All-Academic Team, as she also earned a spot on the 2021 Indoor Track & Field and 2021 Cross Country All-Academic Teams.

During the indoor season Korte was part of Cleveland State's distance squad, posting a season-best time in the 5000 Meter Run at the Mastodon Invite and a personal-best time in the Mile Run at the Doug Raymond Invite.

Smith currently owns a 3.91 cumulative GPA studying health sciences, and has earned a spot on the Cleveland State Dean's List the last four semesters. This marks the first All-Academic Team accolade for Smith.

Throughout the indoor campaign, Smith was Cleveland State's top mid-distance runner, including an individual event win in the 800 Meter Run at the Mastodon Invite. Smith was also part of the Cleveland State 4x400 Meter Relay team that picked up points at the #HLTF Indoor Championships.
