Cleveland State Track & Field Opens #HLTF Indoor Championships

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Cleveland State track & field team opened its final weekend of the 2021-22 indoor campaign Saturday, participating in day one of the Horizon League Indoor Championships. 

Zoe Dellaserra was Cleveland State's lone representative in field events, placing 26th in the Long Jump with a mark of 4.50. 

In distance events, Kiannah Sarver paced the Vikings in the 5,000 Meter Run, placing 20th with a time if 19:55.07, while Margaret Smith led the Vikings with a 17th place finish in the 800 Meter Run prelims (2:23.02).

Dynesty Ervin was Cleveland State's top sprinter on the day, placing 14th in the 400 Meter Dash prelims with a time of 59.71 – the second fastest time of the season. Ervin also paced the Vikings in the 200 Meter Dash prelims, finishing with a season-best time of 25.82 to place 16th overall.  

Day two of the Horizon League Indoor Championships will take place tomorrow (Sunday, February 27), with the Vikings set to compete in the 3,000 Meter Run and 4x400 Meter Relay.
