Ervin Wins 200 Meter Dash At Hillsdale Wide Track Classic

HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Cleveland State track & field team continued the indoor campaign Saturday, participating in the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic.

"Each week we are putting the pieces together for our Horizon League roster, and this week was another chance for us to see how things are progressing," head coach Jason Hudson said. "Dynesty led the way for us again with a pair of nice finishes in both of her races, while Zoe competed for the first time today placing in both of her events. We still have some of the team out with injury, so we will be leaning heavily on those that are healthy to lead the way as we inch closer to the conference championships."

Dynesty Ervin once again paced the Vikings, posting a first place finish in the 200 Meter Dash (25.83) and a second place finish in the 400 Meter Dash (1:00.98).

Margaret Smith also competed in two events for the Vikings on Saturday, placing third in the 400 Meter Dash (1:01.94) while also competing in the 200 Meter Dash (28.85).

Joining Ervin and Smith in the 400 Meter Dash was Colette Conway, who finished with a time of 1:10.58.

Zoe Dellaserra made her season debut at the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic, placing fourth in the 60 Meter Dash (8.36) and seventh in the Long Jump (4.57).

Emily Nemeth was Cleveland State's lone distance runner Saturday, posting a time of 11:57.36 in the 3000 Meter Run.

The Vikings will be back in action next weekend, participating in the two-day Akron Invite on Friday, February 4 and Saturday, February 5.
