Track & Field Opens Indoor Season At YSU Ice Breaker

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State track & field team will begin its indoor season this weekend, with a limited number of Vikings competing at the YSU Ice Breaker on Friday, December 3.

Friday's meet will mark the first of seven competitions for the Vikings during the indoor campaign, and will be the lone event during the month of December.

Cleveland State Event Times: 
The meet is slated to get underway at 2:00 p.m., with running and field events starting simultaneously and continuing on a rolling schedule.  

Cleveland State will be one of three Horizon League teams competing at the YSU Ice Breaker this weekend, joining Robert Morris and the host Penguins.

Sara Timberlake will be making her collegiate track & field debut this weekend, while the remaining four Vikings in action at the YSU Ice Breaker are part of 10 returning Cleveland State letterwinners for the 2021-22 season.

Friday will mark the first meet during the Jason Hudson era, as Hudson took over the reigns of the program back in August. After serving as the head cross country coach since 2018, Hudson was promoted to head coach cross country and track & field prior to the 2021-22 academic year.
