Cleveland State Track & Field Set For #HLTF Outdoor Championships

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State track & field team will close out the outdoor campaign this weekend, participating in the 2021 #HLTF Outdoor Championship. This year's meet will be hosted by Youngstown State and will run from Friday, May 7 through Sunday, May 9.

#HLTF CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

Friday's schedule will begin with the Heptathlon at 12:30 p.m., while field events will begin at 12:00 p.m. and running events will begin at 7:20 p.m.

Saturday's schedule will feature the Heptathlon beginning at 9:30 a.m., followed by field events at 12:00 p.m. and running events at 4:00 p.m.

The final day – Sunday – will begin with field events at 10:00 a.m. followed by running events at 11:00 a.m.

All three running sections will be streamed live on ESPN3, while there will be live results of all events.

Entering this weekend's #HLTF Championship, two Vikings have posted marks that rank among the top-10 in the Horizon League so far this season: Dynesty Ervin (400) and Anna Brandt (800, 1500, 3000SC), while the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams also have top-10 marks.

Through the first five meets of the outdoor season the Vikings have notched 11 top-five finishes, including a trio of runner-up finishes from Brandt (1500 @ Tiffin Classic), Tylar Mixon (200 @ West Virginia Invite) and Brooke Armbruster (Javelin @ West Virginia Invite).

This weekend's meet marks the sixth of the 2021 outdoor season for the Vikings, and the first time for Cleveland State to be competing at Youngstown State.

During the 2019 #HLTF Outdoor Championship – the last time the outdoor championship was held – the Vikings were able to post 10 podium finishes at the league meet.
