TIFFIN, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team had a strong showing at the Tiffin Classic Saturday, posting 13 top-10 finishes.
Sprints
Cleveland State's top sprint finishes came in the 100 Meter Dash, as Tylar Mixon finished fifth with a time of 12.32 and Zoe Dellaserra finished seventh in a time of 12.52. Lauren Zawie recorded a time of 27.63 in the 200 Meter Dash to pace the Vikings, while Deja Emmanus posted a time of 1:04.68 in the 400 Meter Dash as CSU's top finisher.
Mid-Distance/Distance
The Vikings recorded four top-10 finishes in mid-distance and distance events, led by Anna Brandt who finished second in the 1500 Meter Run with a time of 4:44.06. Brandt's time in the 1500 Meter Run marked a program record, as she topped her previous best by nearly five seconds.
Shannon Wargo finished seventh in the 1500 Meter Run (4:58.29), while Margaret Smith finished sixth in the 800 Meter Run (2:23.16) and Deanna Swinerton placed ninth in the 800 (2:25.96) to round out the top-10 mid-distance and distance finishes.
Field
Cleveland State posted a top-10 finish in all three field events that they competed in on Saturday, including a 10th place finish from Kamryn Sharer in the Shot Put with a program record mark of 11.82.
In the Pole Vault, Kaelin Stahl tied her best mark with a 3.15 to finish ninth, while she also finished eighth in the Javelin with a mark of 16.61. Brooke Armbruster also represented the Vikings in the Javelin, posting a mark of 15.63 to finish ninth.
Relays
Competing in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays, Cleveland State's best finish came as a second-place showing in the 4x400 with a time of 4:01.79. The Vikings placed fourth in the 4x100, crossing the finish line in a time of 48.23.
