Vikings Continue Action At #HLTF Indoor Championship

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Cleveland State track and field team continued action the 2021 Horizon League Indoor Championships on Saturday, with Kamryn Sharer placing sixth in the Shot Put and Tylar Mixon advancing to the 60 Meter Dash finals.

Sharer posted Cleveland State's first podium finish at the 2021 Horizon League Indoor Championship with her sixth place showing in the Shot Put. Sharer recorded a mark of 12.42 on Saturday – the second best mark in program history.

In the 60 Meter Dash, the Vikings put one runner through to the finals, as Tylar Mixon finished eighth in the prelims with a season-best time of 7.84. Zoe Dellaserra also competed for CSU in the 60 Meter Dash, posting a time of 8.09.

The Vikings also had representatives in the 400 Meter Dash and 800 Meter Run prelims on Saturday. Lauren Zawie posted a time of 1:03.17 in the 400, while Savannah Shaver (2:28.57), Deanna Swinerton (2:30.05) and Deja Emmanus (2:30.88) ran in the 800.

Shaver's time of 2:28.57 marked a career-best for the freshman.

Action at the 2021 Horizon League Indoor Championship will continue tomorrow (Sunday, February 27), with the Vikings competing in the Mile and 60 Meter Dash finals and the 200 Meter Dash prelims.
