Track & Field Opens Indoor Season At YSU Invitational

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State track & field team will begin its indoor season this weekend, with a limited number of Vikings competing at the YSU Invitational on Friday, January 15.

Friday's meet will mark the first competition for the Vikings in 319 days, as they were last in action at the 2020 Horizon League Indoor Championship on March 1, 2020.

Cleveland State Event Times: 
5000 – 1:00 pm
Mile – 1:25 pm
800 – 1:45 pm
Pole Vault – 4:30 pm

Due to Youngstown Health Department and YSU Health & Safety Guidelines, spectators will not be allowed at the YSU Invitational. 

Savannah Shaver will be making her collegiate debut this weekend, while the remaining seven Vikings in action at the YSU Invitational are part of 22 returning Cleveland State letterwinners for the 2020-21 season.

Cleveland State will be under the direction of second-year head coach Amber Williams and assistant track & field/head cross country coach Jason Hudson during the 2020-21 season.
