Vikings Record Eight Top-Five Finishes On Day Two Of Spire Invitational

GENEVA, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team continued its strong showing on day two of the Spire Invitational Saturday, posting eight top-five individual and relay finishes.

Freshman Azsah Bradley posted Cleveland State's best individual finish at the Spire Invitational, placing second in the 60 Meter Dash with a time of 7.74. Bradley knocked seven seconds off of her prelim time, and was the lone Viking to earn a spot in the championship race.

Monica Johnson advanced to the championship race of the 60 Meter Hurdles, posting a time of 8.97 to finish fourth overall. Cleveland State also had two top-five finishes in the 400 Meter Dash, as Dyamond Myers recorded a time of 59.78 to finish third and Dynesty Ervin placed fifth in a time of 1:00.44.

The Vikings recorded a trio of top-five finishes in distance events Saturday, led by Anna Brandt who notched top-five marks in the 800 Meter and Mile Run. Brandt posted a time of 2:19.46 to finish fourth in the 800, while she finished third in the Mile with a time of 5:09.04.

Margaret Smith posted the third top-five finish for the Vikings in distance events, placing fifth in the 600 Meter Run with a time of 1:40.94 – the second fastest time in program history.

Kamryn Sharer posted Cleveland State's best field event finish on the day, placing sixth in the Shot Put with a program record mark of 11.65. Kaelin Stahl also notched a top-10 finish in the Pole Vault, placing eighth with a mark of 3.22.

Cleveland State had three teams competing in the 4x400 Meter Relay, with the quartet of Mijah Collier, Myers, Ervin, and Alli Pankow posting a fifth place finish with a time of 4:10.71.

The Vikings will now take a week off from competition, returning to action at the Akron Invitational on Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8.
