Vikings Return To Action At Spire Invitational

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team will be back in action this Friday (January 24) and Saturday (January 25), competing at the Spire Invitational in Geneva, Ohio.

On Friday, the Vikings will be represented in the 5,000 Meter Run, which is set for a 6:45 p.m. start. On Saturday, track events are slated to begin at 9:00 a.m., while field events will start at 10:00 a.m.

COMPLETE SCHEDULE

The Spire Invitational will mark the fourth of eight indoor meets for the Vikings this season, and the third straight weekend that Cleveland State has been in action.

Last time out, the Vikings had a strong showing at the YSU Collegiate Invitational, paced by Anna Brandt who posted a program record time of 1:18.81 with a second place finish in the 500 Meter Run.

RECORD BOOK | YSU COLLEGE INVITATIONL RESULTS 

Brandt's record time in the 500 Meter Run marks the fourth program record mark set so far this season, as she joins Azsah Bradley (60 Meter Dash), Dyamond Myers (300 Meter Dash) and Kaelin Stahl (Pole Vault).

So far this season three Vikings rank in the top-five among Horizon League finishes, as Monica Johnson ranks second in the 60 Meter Hurdles, Anna Brandt ranks third in the 800 Meter Run and Azsah Bradley ranks fourth in the 60 Meter Dash.

HORIZON LEAGUE TOP TIMES

This weekend's meet will mark the fourth outing under head coach Amber Williams, who joined the Vikings earlier this fall following stints at Ball State and Colgate.
