Johnson Named Second Team All-League On Final Day Of #HLTF Championship

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team wrapped up action at the 2019 Horizon League Outdoor Championship Sunday, placing seventh overall with 40 total points. The Vikings were led by Monica Johnson, who was named All-Horizon League Second Team after finishing second in the 100 Meter Hurdles.

Cleveland State's 40 total points marked a program-best for the outdoor championship, while it tied the program record for indoor or outdoor Horizon League Championships.

Sprints
Monica Johnson recorded Cleveland State's best individual finish on the final day of the #HLTF Championship, placing second in the 100 Meter Hurdles with a program record time of 14.38. Johnson, who bettered her time from Saturday's prelims, earned Second Team All-Horizon League honors for her second place finish in the 100 Hurdles.

Tylar Mixon earned a spot in both the 100 and 200 Meter Dash finals on Sunday, finishing fourth in the 200 with a time of 24.94 and fifth in the 100 with a time of 12.18. Mixon's time in the 100 Dash bettered her prelim time from yesterday, while it also marked a Cleveland State record.

Mijah Collier also appeared in two finals on Sunday, finishing seventh in both the 100 Meter Hurdles (15.20) and the 400 Meter Hurdles (1:08.47).

Distance
Jessica Finley and Abbey Rojeck both competed in the 5000 Meter Run on Sunday, Finley recording a time of 19:10.26 and Rojeck posting a time of 19:54.39.

Relays
The Vikings competed in both the 4x100 and 4x400 Meter Relays on the final day of the #HLTF Championship, with their best finish coming in the 4x100 relay, placing sixth with a time of 48.91.
