INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced its Indoor Track & Field All-Academic Teams Thursday afternoon, with Cleveland State sophomore Anna Brandt earning a spot on the 17-member team.
Brandt, who has been Cleveland State's top mid-distance and distance runner this winter, owns a perfect 4.0 GPA as a health science/pre-physical therapy/exercise science major.
Brandt has been named to the Cleveland State Dean's List every semester of her collegiate career, and has been honored as a CSU Athletic Academic Honoree.
Throughout the indoor season, Brandt set CSU records in the 500, 800, 1000, Mile, and 3000 Meter Runs, including her first-ever sub five-minute Mile (4:58.32) at the prestigious Penn State National.
Brandt recorded seven top-five individual finishes throughout the indoor season, including first place finishes in the 800 Meter Run (2:17.35) at the YSU Icebreaker and the Mile Run (5:08.60) at the BGSU Opener.
The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with Academic All-League honors in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Academic All-Horizon League consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale) and have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits.
