ORLANDO, Fla. - The Cleveland State women's tennis team scored a 7-0 sweep over Baker on Sunday afternoon to open spring break play in Orlando, Fla. The Viking women move to 6-9 on the year with the win, Cleveland State's second sweep of the season.

"Even though we weren't really tested today, this was a good match for us to get back outside," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "We set the standard in doubles by winning quickly and didn't really let Baker get into the match at all."

The Vikings claimed all three doubles matches, with Sarah Galon and Morgan Ungerott taking No. 1 doubles against Marti Eldson and Virginia Brown, 8-2. At No. 2 doubles, Marcella Capozziello and Paulina Reyes scored an 8-4 win over Ashley Hutchison and Megan Lamb, while Rebekah Bicksler and Amanda Cerny won at No. 3 doubles, defeating Taylor McKinley and Libby Hillman, 8-2.

In singles, five of the six Vikings ended their match in straight sets, highlighted by Capozziello's win over Lamb at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Ungerott posted a 6-0, 6-1 win over Brown at No. 2, while Reyes also scored a blank set, defeating McKinley, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Bicksler defeated Hutchison at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-0, with Cerny knocking off Hillman at No. 6, 6-1, 6-2. Galon's match at No. 1 singles was the only to go three sets as she defeated Eldson, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.

The Vikings resume play on Monday with a pair of matches. Cleveland State will take on William Jewell College at 8 a.m. before facing Long Island at 12 p.m.
