Cleveland State Women's Tennis Loses At Niagara

TONAWANDA, N.Y. - The Cleveland State women's tennis team lost its second straight match on Friday, falling to Niagara, 7-0. The Vikings drop to 3-7 on the season, while Niagara remains perfect at 8-0.

Cleveland State was competitive in the doubles matches, as Sarah Galon and Morgan Ungerott dropped a tough 8-5 decision to Mariam Al-Shikarchy and Danielle Greiner, while Paulina Reyes and Marcella Capozziello fell to Kendra Daigler and Aditi Krishnan, 8-6. The third doubles pairing of Rebekah Bicksler and Amanda Cerny lost to Julianne Prokopich and Jacquelyn Cary, 8-4.

The singles matches weren't as close, as all six were decided in straight sets. Sarah Galon had the best score in a game, falling to Milena Matijevic, 6-1, 7-6(5).

The Vikings will look to get back on the winning side, taking on UW-Milwaukee in a Horizon League match on Sunday, Feb. 29, at the River Oaks Racquet Club in Rocky River, Ohio. Sunday's match begins at 3 p.m.
