Entering her first year as head coach of the men's and women's teams, Sandy Geringer is excited about the Vikings' opportunities. Geringer believes that there is a great wave of enthusiasm that will carry both teams throughout the year. She has the confidence that both teams will prove to be ready for action.

Geringer has been playing competitive tennis for the past 15 years. She was raised in Chippewa Lake, Ohio and attended Cloverleaf High School. Collegiately, she played at the Division I level at Bowling Green State University. She graduated from BGSU in 1997 with a degree in Sport Management.

Following graduation, Geringer went to work for Sea Pines Racquet Club on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, as the Assistant Buyer. Her duties also included promoting club tournament and special events, as well as assisting with the organization of the Family Circle Magazine Cup Women's Professional Tournament.

After two years at Sea Pines, Geringer moved back to Ohio in January 2000. Shortly thereafter, she received her certification with the United States Professional Tennis Association and went to work at Chagrin Valley Athletic Club under the tutelage of Greg Aten, Director of Tennis.

In the summer of 2001, Geringer served as the Tennis Director of the Hemlock Hills Adult and Junior Tennis Program. She also played first singles in the Northeast Ohio 4.5 United States Tennis Association National Tennis Rating Program league for Beechmont Country Club, leading the team to a second place finish in the state finals. In addition, she also coached the Kenston High School Girl's Tennis team in Fall 2001.

Geringer currently lives in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
