Cleveland State Women’s Tennis Earns 5-2 Victory At Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Cleveland State women's tennis team remained perfect in Horizon League play Saturday, picking up a 5-2 victory at Milwaukee. With the win, the Vikings are now 10-8 overall this season and 2-0 in #HLTennis play.

After dropping the doubles point, the Vikings were able to respond with the first two singles points, as Oihane Vicario notched a 6-3, 6-3 win at the top of the lineup and Tereze Vevere earned a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles.

Cleveland State was then able to gain a 3-1 advantage after Sima Heren earned a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles, before Milwaukee answered with a win at the No. 5 spot to put the score at 3-2 CSU.

Bethany Yauch clinched the match for the Vikings at No. 4 singles, as she earned a 3-6, 6-4, 6-0 come-from-behind victory to keep the Vikings perfect in #HLTennis play.

Cleveland State was also able to pick up a win at No. 6 singles, as Filippa Frowner earned a 6-2, 7-6(4) win to put the final score at 5-2.

The Vikings will close out the weekend tomorrow, traveling to Chicago State for a 3:00 p.m. EST match.
