Cleveland State Women’s Tennis Set To Host Duquesne & Niagara

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's tennis team will be back in action this weekend, hosting Duquesne on Friday, March 22 and Niagara on Sunday, March 24.

The Vikings will be closing out their 16-match non-league slate, and will be returning to the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion for the first time since the first of the month.

Cleveland State enters the weekend with six wins on the year, including victories against Bowling Green and St. Bonaventure at the MMTP.

Three Vikings have double-digit singles wins on the year, led by Oihane Vicario with 16. Sima Heren has 15 wins on the year, while Tereze Vevere has 14. In addition, Ella Franz and Filippa Frogner have nine singles wins entering Friday's match.

In doubles, Vevere and Franz have a team-best 20-3 record, while Heren and Bethany Yauch own 16 doubles wins.

Vevere and Franz currently rank fourth on the CSU Doubles Wins List with 36 career wins as a tandem, and are just two wins shy of moving into a tie for third place. Along with Vevere/Franz, Heren and Yauch are also on the CSU Doubles Wins List, ranking sixth with 29 career victories together.
