Cleveland State Women’s Tennis Set For Road Matches At Miami (OH) & USF

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team will hit the road for two matches over the next week, traveling to Miami (OH) on Saturday, March 9 before heading south to USF on Wednesday, March 13. 

Cleveland State currently stands at 6-6 on the year and will be playing away from home for the first time in almost one month. 

After the first 12 matches of the spring, Oihane Vicario leads the Vikings with a 16-7 singles record, including an 8-4 mark during dual match play. Vicario is one of three Vikings with double-digit wins on the year, as Sima Heren enters the weekend with 15 and Tereze Vevere has 14. 

In doubles, Vevere and Ella Franz have a team-best 19-3 record on the year, including a 9-1 mark this spring. As a tandem, Vevere and Franz rank fourth on the CSU Doubles Wins List with 35 career wins, while Heren and Bethany Yauch rank sixth with 29 victories. For the season, Heren and Yauch own a 16-9 record as one of two Cleveland State doubles teams with 15+ wins on the year. 

Looking ahead, the Vikings will back in the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion later this month, hosting Duquesne on Friday, March 22 and Niagara on Sunday, March 24 to close out non-league play.
