Cleveland State Women’s Tennis Set To Host Bowling Green

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team will continue its spring slate this weekend, hosting Bowling Green at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16 for their lone contest of the week.

The Vikings enter Friday's match with a 4-3 record on the year after splitting their matches against West Virginia (L, 5-2) and Radford (W, 5-2) last time out.

Earlier this week, Cleveland State picked up both of the Horizon League weekly awards, with Sima Heren earning Singles Player of the Week and Tereze Vevere and Ella Franz being named the Doubles Team of the Week. This marked the second time this season that the Vikings swept the weekly awards.

Heren enters the weekend with a team-best 14-5 record on the year, including a 6-1 mark this spring. After going 2-0 last weekend, Heren now owns 49 career singles wins, and is just one win shy of becoming the 20th Viking all-time to reach the 50-win milestone.

Friday's match will be just the second contest inside the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion for the Vikings this season, while it marks the first of a five-match homestand for Cleveland State.
