CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's tennis team opened the home portion of its spring schedule Friday, dropping a 5-2 contest against Toledo.
Cleveland State was able to pick up the early doubles point on Friday, earning wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Tereze Vevere and Ella Franz earned a 6-1 win at the No. 3 spot, while Sima Heren and Bethany Yauch posted a 7-6(2) victory at the top of the lineup.
With their win at No. 3 doubles, Vevere and Franz improved to 3-0 this spring.
Cleveland State's lone singles win on the day came from Heren at No. 2 singles, picking up a 6-3, 7-5 victory. With her win, Heren remained perfect this spring, improving to 4-0 in singles play.
Cleveland State will now travel to Eastern Michigan on Sunday, February 4 for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
