Cleveland State Women’s Tennis Has Strong First Day Of Bronco Super Challenge

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Cleveland State women's tennis team opened play at the Bronco Super Challenge Friday, picking up 11 singles wins and a pair of doubles wins.

The quartet of Oihane Vicario, Tereze Vevere, Ella Franz, and Mikaela Konstantinova all went 2-0 in singles play on Friday, while Bethany Yauch, Sima Heren and Selma Tounsi each picked up one singles win on the day.

With her two victories on Friday, Vevere eclipsed the 50-win mark for her career, becoming the second active Viking to reach the milestone.

In doubles action, Yauch and Heren earned a 6-0 victory over Oakland and Vevere and Franz posted a 6-1 win against a Chicago State duo.

The Vikings will close out play at the Bronco Super Challenge tomorrow.
