Vicario Claims Viking Invitational Singles Title

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team closed out play at the Viking Invitational Sunday, picking up five singles wins on the final day of action.

After going 3-0 on the weekend – including a win against YSU today – Oihane Vicario claimed the Viking Invitational Singles title. Vicario is the third Viking to capture the singles title over the seven year history of the invitational. 

In addition to Vicario, Sima Heren, Tereze Vevere, Selma Tounsi, and Filippa Frogner also picked up wins on Sunday. 

With her win against the Penguins, Vevere also finished the weekend with a perfect 3-0 singles mark. 

Cleveland State will continue its fall season next weekend, taking part in the Rocket Invite hosted by Toledo on Friday, October 27 and Saturday, October 28.
