CHARLESTON, W. Va. - The Cleveland State women's tennis team opened its 2023 fall campaign Friday, starting play at Thunder in the Mountains.

The Vikings picked up a trio of doubles wins on the day along with two singles victories.

Oihane Vicario started the year with a 6-4, 4-6, 1-0(7) victory over West Virginia's Love-Star Alexis, while Ella Franz earned a 6-4, 3-6, 1-0(6) against Ting-Pei Chang of West Virginia.

In doubles action, Franz and Tereze Vevere earned a 6-4 victory, while Vicario and Mikaela Konstantinova posted a 7-6(4) win and Sima  Heren and Bethany Yauch notched a 6-3 victory - with all three wins coming against Marshall.

Konstantinova was making her Cleveland State debut, joining the Vikings as a fifth-year transfer.

Action at Thunder in the Mountains will continue tomorrow, with one round of doubles play and one round of singles action.
