The Vikings opened #HLTennis play on the road, dropping a 5-2 contest at Youngstown State. Cleveland State's two points on the day came from doubles and Oihane Vicario at No. 1 singles.

#HLTennis Slate
This weekend's matches will be the second and third of a six-match Horizon League slate for the Vikings, and the first #HLTennis matches inside the MMTP this season. So far this year, the Vikings stand at 4-2 when playing at home.

Vicario In #HLTennis Play
After picking up a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 1 singles against Youngstown State last time out, Oihane Vicario improved to 5-1 all-time against Horizon League opponents in regular season play. Last year, Vicario finished her rookie campaign with a 4-1 mark in regular season matches, and stands at 1-0 after the first week of #HLTennis play this season.

Vevere Closing In On 20-Win Season
After winning four out of her last five matches, Tereze Vevere enters the weekend with 19 singles wins on the year, just one win shy of recording her second straight 20-win campaign. So far this season, Vevere leads the team with a 19-10 overall record, including a 10-6 mark this spring as one of just two Vikings with double-digit wins in dual match play.

Vikings With The Doubles Point
So far this season Cleveland State has earned the early doubles point in 13 of its 16 matches, including picking up the early 1-0 advantage against the Penguins last time out. All three of its doubles teams have recorded double-digit wins on the year, with Sima Heren/Bethany Yauch and Ella Franz/Tereze Vevere both owning 11 wins, while Filippa Frogner and Selma Tounsi have notched 10 victories. So far this spring, Heren and Yauch have a team-best 10-5 record at the top of the lineup.
