Cleveland State Women’s Tennis Picks Up 7-0 Sweep At St. Bonaventure

OLEAN, N.Y. - The Cleveland State women's tennis team notched its second straight win on Saturday, picking up a 7-0 win at St. Bonaventure. With the win, the Vikings improve to 7-5 overall this season.

The Vikings were able to pick up the doubles point with wins at the top two spots on Saturday, as Bethany Yauch and Sima Heren earned a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles and Filippa Frogner and Selma Tounsi posted a 6-1 victory at the No. 2 spot.

Cleveland State was then able to pick up wins on all six singles courts, picking up their third 7-0 sweep of the season.

Tereze Vevere picked up her team-leading 16th singles win of the year with a 7-6(4), 7-6(5) victory at No. 3 singles, while Yauch improved to 15-9 overall this season with a 3-0, ret. win at the No. 2 spot.

Oihane Vicario notched a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 victory at the top of the singles lineup, while Heren earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 4 spot and Frogner posted a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles. The final win of the day came from Avery Durham at No. 6 singles then, as she earned a 7-5, 6-0 victory to close out the match.

The Vikings will return to action with a pair of road matches next weekend, traveling to Morgantown, W. Va. to take on West Virginia (Saturday, March 4) and Howard (Sunday, March 5).
