CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team opened play at the Viking Invitational Friday, picking up five singles wins and three doubles victories.

In singles, Cleveland State picked up wins in five out of six matches against Niagara, with all five coming in straight sets.

The trio of Bethany Yauch, Tereze Vevere and Selma Tounsi all earned matching 6-2, 6-1 victories, while Ella Franz posted a 6-4, 6-1 win playing in the MMTP for the first time, and Filippa Frogner earned a 7-5, 6-1 win.

In doubles action, the Vikings earned a pair of wins against Duquesne and notched one victory against Youngstown State. Tounsi/Frogner and Vicario/Vevere notched matching 6-2 victories against Duquesne, while Yauch and Tounsi earned a 6-3 win against the Penguins.

Cleveland State will continue action at the Viking Invitational tomorrow, with one round of singles and two rounds of doubles.
