Cleveland State Women’s Tennis Continues #HLTennis Play At IUPUI & NKU

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team will look to stay perfect in Horizon League action with a pair of road matches this weekend, traveling to IUPUI on Saturday, April 9 and Northern Kentucky on Sunday, April 10.

MATCH #19
Cleveland State at IUPUI
Saturday, April 9 | 1:00 p.m.

MATCH #20
Cleveland State at Northern Kentucky
Sunday, April 10 | 12:30 p.m.

Cleveland State enters the weekend with a 1-0 record in #HLTennis matches after picking up a 6-1 victory over Oakland in the league opener last weekend. The matches at IUPUI and NKU will mark the first of three road contests during league play for the Vikings this season, as Cleveland State will also travel to Youngstown State in the regular season finale (April 23).

Against the Grizzlies, the Vikings were able to pick up the doubles point along with wins at No. 2 – No. 6 singles. One of Cleveland State's singles points came from Bethany Yauch at the No. 6 spot, as she improved to a team-best 19-10 overall this year. With just one more win, Yauch would mark the first 20-win campaign of her collegiate career.

Cleveland State also got singles wins from Sima Heren and Tereze Vevere against Oakland, with both Vikings playing in their first #HLTennis matches.

After last weekend's match against Oakland, five Vikings now have 10+ singles wins on the year – Yauch, Oihane Vicario, Tereze Vevere, Sima Heren, and Selma Tounsi

Looking Ahead…
Cleveland State will host Milwaukee (April 15) and UIC (April 16) next weekend in the final homestand of the 2022 spring campaign.
