Cleveland State Women’s Tennis Closes Non-League Slate At Xavier

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team closed out non-league play Sunday evening, dropping a 7-0 contest at Xavier.

Sunday's match marked the final contest of a 17-match non-league slate for the Vikings this season, and marked the final match during the month of March.

"This was a tough match for us today, Xavier played really well and despite battling up and down the lineup we came up short," head coach Frank Polito said. "We are looking forward to opening Horizon League play, and know what we need to work on before Friday's league opener against Oakland."

Cleveland State will begin its six-match Horizon League slate on Friday, April 1, hosting Oakland at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion. The Vikings will also host Milwaukee and UIC, while traveling to IUPUI, Northern Kentucky and Youngstown State during league play this season.

Friday's match against Oakland is set for a 3:00 p.m. first serve at the MMTP.
