Cleveland State Women’s Tennis Comes Up Short Against Bowling Green

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team closed out its current home stand Sunday afternoon, dropping a 4-3 match against Bowling Green.

For the seventh time this season the Vikings were able to pick up the early doubles point, sweeping all three doubles matches. Cleveland State picked up matching 6-3 wins at the top two spots, while the Vikings earned a 7-6(4) victory at No. 3 doubles.

With their win at No. 2 doubles, Selma Tounsi and Bethany Yauch improved to 8-3 this spring, while Sima Heren and Klara Mrcela are now 6-3 in dual match play after picking up the win at the top of the lineup.

Cleveland State's two singles wins came at the top of the lineup and No. 5 singles, as Oihane Vicario and Tereze Vevere picked up victories.

Vicario earned a 6-0, 1-6, 6-0 victory over Bowling Green's Ionna Tsadari at No. 1 singles, while Vevere posted a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles against Hannah Neuman.

Cleveland State will return to action next weekend, traveling to Butler on Friday, March 4 and Ball State on Saturday, March 5.
