Cleveland State Women’s Tennis Falls To Toledo

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team continued its current home stand on Friday afternoon, falling to Toledo, 5-2. The Vikings now stand at 6-3 overall this season.

Cleveland State was able to pick up the early doubles point for the sixth time this season, sweeping all three doubles matches.

Sima Heren and Klara Mrcela earned a 6-4 win at the top of the lineup, while Selma Tounsi and Bethany Yauch marked a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles, and Filippa Frogner and Oihane Vicario posted a 6-3 win at the No. 3 spot.

With their win at the top of the doubles lineup, Heren and Mrcela now have a team-best 5-1 record this spring, while Tounsi and Yauch stand at 5-3 during dual match play.

Yauch picked up Cleveland State's lone singles point of the day, earning a 2-6, 6-4, 6-0 three-set victory at No. 6 singles. With the win, Yauch now owns a team-best 7-2 singles record this spring, while she also owns a team-best 14-6 record on the season.

The Vikings will continue their current six-match home stand on Sunday, February 20, hosting Cincinnati at 1:00 p.m.
