Cleveland State picked up the doubles point in both matches Saturday, including sweeping all three courts against St. Bonaventure. The top two tandems of Sima Heren/Klara Mrcela and Selma Tounsi/Bethany Yauch picked up wins in both of their matches on the day, while Oihane Vicario and Filippa Frogner earned a win against St. Bonaventure.

So far this season, the Vikings are 3-0 in doubles points.

"Today was a tough day for the team, mentally and physically, but I'm proud of how they handled it and battled for two big wins," head coach Frank Polito said. "The freshmen continued to play some great tennis, which is promising to see as we continue to progress throughout the season. I also thought we played some good doubles today to get us off to strong starts in both matches."

In singles, the quartet of Vicario, Heren, Yauch and Tereze Vevere all went 2-0 on the day, while Tounsi and Frogner both went 1-1.

With her wins against WMU and St. Bonaventure, Vevere became the first Viking to reach 10 singles wins on the season, while Vicario and Yauch are close behind with nine wins each.

Through the first two weeks of the spring campaign, Vicario owns a perfect 3-0 record at No. 1 singles, while Heren stands at 3-0 at the No. 2 spot.

The Vikings will continue their first homestand of the 2022 spring campaign tomorrow, hosting West Virginia at 2:00 p.m. inside the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion.
