Cleveland State Women’s Tennis Has Strong First Day At Betsy Kuhle Invitational

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Cleveland State women's tennis team opened play at the Betsy Kuhle Invitational Friday, the final event of the 2021 fall campaign.

Oihane Vicario and Tereze Vevere led the way for the Vikings in singles action on Friday, as they both went 2-0 in their respective matches. Vicario picked up a 5-7, 6-4, 1-0(5) win over Oakland and a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Northwestern, while Vevere earned a 7-6(3), 7-6(4) win over Marquette and a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Oakland.

Bethany Yauch also picked up a singles win on the first day of play, as she notched a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Marquette.

Cleveland State also picked up a doubles win on the day, as Vicario and Yauch notched a 6-3 win over a Marquette tandem.

Play at the Besty Kuhle Invitational will conclude tomorrow (Saturday, November 13) with two rounds of doubles and one round of singles.
