CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team wrapped up its first road weekend of Horizon League play Sunday, dropping a 5-2 decision at Youngstown State.
At the top of the singles lineup, Miruna Vasilescu remained perfect in Horizon League play, as she posted a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Youngstown State's Tamara Teufl. For the season, Vasilescu owns an 8-2 record, including a 4-0 mark in league play.
Cleveland State's second singles win came at the No. 3 spot, as Blanche Lenoan earned her second win of the weekend over YSU's Lucia Zagar. Lenoan posted a 2-6, 6-2, 1-0(6) victory on Sunday, improving to 7-3 on the year.
Despite dropping the doubles point, Cleveland State's No. 1 team of Klara Mrcela and Miruna Vasilescu picked up a 6-0 victory, improving to 4-2 on the season.
Cleveland State will take a break from Horizon League play next week, hosting St. Bonaventure on Saturday, March 27.
