BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Cleveland State women's tennis team closed out its fall season Sunday, participating in the final day of the UB Fall Invite.

"Overall I thought we had good weekend with a lot of competitive tennis, which is a great way to end the fall season," head coach Frank Polito said. "We played some great doubles again today – which we have been doing all fall – especially Klara and Lara who finished off a great fall season with another win today. Although we came up short in singles play, I thought we had some chances on all of the courts and put ourselves in a position that the matches could have gone either way. Now we have some time to get ready for the spring season and come out ready to play Cleveland State tennis."

The Cleveland State doubles team of Klara Mrcela and Lara Prosenjak picked up the lone victory on the day for the Vikings, earning a 6-3 victory over a duo from Rutgers. Mrcela and Prosenjak finished the weekend with a perfect 3-0 doubles record at the UB Fall Invite, improving to 7-2 on the year.

The UB Fall Invite marked the fourth tournament for the Vikings this fall, as they also competed in the Iberostar College Cup, Viking Invitational and Akron Shootout. Cleveland State will resume action during the spring season, with the schedule being released shortly on CSUVikings.com.
