Vikings Begin Play At Iberostar College Cup

CANCUN, Mexico – The Cleveland State women's tennis team opened its fall campaign Wednesday, participating in the Iberostar College Cup in Cancun, Mexico.

"I thought we came out a little slow during the first part of the day, but we bounced back and fought hard until the end," head coach Frank Polito said. "During the second round we came out with a ton of energy, which was great to see on the first day of the fall season. Pri had a great start to her collegiate career, I'm happy that she was able to go 2-0 on the day and I can't wait to see what else she is capable of this weekend."

Frehsman Prinkle Singh picked up her first collegiate singles win on Wednesday, earning an 8-4 victory over Wyoming's Ana Fernandez.

Singh was also part of a winning doubles team for the Vikings, as she teamed with Gaby Schoenberg to earn an 8-7(5) victory against Southeastern Louisiana.
