AKRON, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team continued action at the Akron Shootout Saturday, with Gaby Schoenberg pacing the Vikings with a singles and doubles win on the day.

"We were able to make some adjustments today based on yesterday's matches, and I thought we did a good job of coming out and competing again today," head coach Frank Polito said. "Gaby had a good day for us, picking up a win in singles and doubles play, while I thought that Kate and Sian also had a good day on the court for us. We still have some work to do, but the good thing is, we have another day tomorrow to come out and work on some things to close out the weekend on a strong note."

Gaby Schoenberg picked up Cleveland State's only singles win on the day, as she earned a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Louisville's Ana Collins, to mark her second singles win of the weekend.

In doubles play, the Viking tandem of Sian Payne and Schoenberg earned a 6-2 victory over a mixed doubles team of Youngstown State's Lucia Zagar and Cleveland State's Blanche Lenoan.   

Action at the Akron Shootout will conclude tomorrow (Sunday, September 23), with one round of singles and one round of doubles beginning at 11:30 a.m.
