STOW, Ohio – Mathilde Orange and Ellen Folkers both picked up singles wins Friday afternoon, as the Cleveland State women's tennis team fell at Akron, 5-2.

"This team continues to work hard every day in practice and when we get on the court in competition, and someday soon it will all click for them," associate head coach Frank Polito said. "Mathilde played a great match in singles for us today and took care of business, while Victoria and Princess played a great doubles match. If they keep up the hard work the sky is the limit."

Cleveland State's lone doubles win came from the No. 2 duo of Victoria Bensimon and Princess Gbadamosi, as they earned a quick 6-1 victory against Madison Cohen and Karolina Maksimova.

Mathilde Orange picked up her first singles win of the spring season Friday afternoon, as she posted a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Akron's Martina Zerbola at No. 2 singles.

Ellen Folkers notched her fourth straight singles victory, picking up a 3-6, 6-4, 12-10 win at No. 3 singles. The win gives her a team-best 13-4 overall singles mark this season, including a team-high 5-3 record this spring.

The Vikings will return home on Sunday (Feb. 22), hosting IPFW at 12:00 p.m. at Paramount Tennis Club in Westlake, Ohio.
