ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Cleveland State women's tennis team was able to capture its second win of the spring season Friday evening, pulling out a 4-3 victory at Saint Louis.

"It was a good day in Viking-Ville, we had a good team win and played with some renewed energy that was great to see," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "We switched up the doubles teams today, and got some positive results from doing so. After picking up the first point of the match, we were able to keep that energy and momentum going throughout singles play, pulling out a tough 4-3 victory. This team has gotten off to a rough start this season, and they have worked really hard over the last few weeks to get to this place and I am extremely proud of them."

For just the second time this season the Vikings were able to pick up the first point of the contest, earning the doubles point after wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Alex Bush and Princess Gbadamosi earned an 8-6 victory at the No. 2 spot, while Kara Sherwood and Victoria Bensimon earned an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles.

CSU was then able to get out to a 2-0 lead following a victory from Bush at No. 3 singles. Bush earned a 6-2, 2-6, 10-4 super-breaker victory, marking her 51st career victory which ties her for 10th all-time at Cleveland State.

Saint Louis was then able to even the match with a pair of victories at the top of the singles lineup, before Mathilde Orange gave CSU a 3-2 advantage with a 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 4 singles.

Gbadamosi was then able to clinch the match for the Vikings with a 7-5, 6-4 victory at No. 5 singles – her 10th victory of the season.
