MUNCIE, Ind. – The Cleveland State women's tennis team began play at the Ball State Invitational Friday, going 2-2 in singles play and 3-1 in doubles action.
The duo of Victoria Bensimon and Alex Bush each picked up a singles win Friday, Bensimon in the C Flight and Bush in the D Flight. Bensimon posted a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Arkansas State's Jess Heeps-Erikson, and Bush earning a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Valparaiso's Megan Barthels.
CSU's doubles team of Princess Gbadamosi and Bensimon went 2-0 on the day, picking up an 8-6 win against a Butler team and an 8-7 (4) victory over an Illinois State duo. Kara Sherwood and Bush split their doubles matches – earning an 8-5 victory over Arkansas State and falling, 8-7 (4) to a Wright State duo.
Action at the Ball State Invitational will continue tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. with two rounds of doubles followed by one round of singles.
