Cleveland State's Brooke Eichel Receives #HLSD Sportsmanship Award

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced the 2024 #HLSD Sportsmanship Award winners on Thursday.

Youngstown State's Terin Frodyma was named the Men's Sportsmanship Award recipient, while Brooke Eichel of Cleveland State was selected as the Women's Sportsmanship Award winner.

"Brooke embodies sportsmanship through her actions and words," head coach Hannah Burandt said. "Brooke is supportive of everyone, both on our team and in competition."

New for the 2023-24 academic year, the Horizon League's Sportsmanship Award recognizes student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. Sportsmanship is defined as behavior exhibited during competition by student-athletes based on values, respect, and integrity.

Eichel, a junior, qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships for the first-time in her career after scoring 268.50 points in 1-meter at the Oberlin/Kenyon dual meet.
